INBOX QUIZ: OCTOBER 09
Halloween - or All Hallow's Eve - is celebrated in October - this month we want you to tell us the actual date of this ghoulish festival

Spiders' webs, vampires and bats - appropriate accessories for that special night when adults and children alike dress up and take part in Trick or Treating, costume balls or simply attend Halloween parties.

On All Hallows’ eve, which is where the name originates from, the ancient Celts would place a skull on their window sill to represent the departed. Later on, the skull was replaced by carved turnips and even later, when it became popular in North America where pumpkins are readily available – the Jack o’ Lantern became the hallmark of Halloween – a carved out pumpkin lit from within with either a candle or light bulb.

It’s hugely celebrated in the United States of America and has only quite recently become a hit here in Germany.

Our October question is: on what date is Halloween celebrated

is it-
a) 1st October
b) 31st October or
c) 25th October

Naturally we are also interested in hearing your thoughts on the matter. Perhaps you have an story you would like to share with us! It could very well be featured in the program or on our web page.
Get your entry sent off by 31st October at the latest - as an e-mail to:
