Most of us know where this year’s FIFA World Cup will be held – but where did the first World Cup tournament take place? 

Tell us where - and when - the first ever World Cup tournament took place and win a radio or some other super prize

The last World Cup was held here in Germany in 2006. The German Football Association have also provided invaluable know-how for the organising committee in South Africa in the run-up to this year’s finals

This year sees the FIFA World Cup take place in Africa for the first time. The finals will be held in South Africa between June 11th and July 11th involving 32 of the leading footballing countries from all the continents.

Brazil is the most successful nation at the World Cup with a total of five wins, followed by Italy with four and Germany with three trophies. Altogether 18 tournaments have taken place so far with Uruguay, Argentina, England and France the other winners over the years.

But let’s cast our minds back to the first ever World Cup tournament. Where was it played?

c) Uruguay
